Poppy's visit

Last week Scott went to Idaho on a man trip, fly fishing with his friend Michael. Nervous about being alone with both kids for a week, I asked my Dad, aka Poppy, if he'd come down to help out.

Poppy was a real champ. He stayed all week, and walked Teddy to sleep, took Lil to the park, cooked dinner, did dishes, played his guitar, and made me his famous woodsman's eggs for lunch one day. He also taught Lil how to make funny faces, as evidenced below.

Thanks Poppy! Couldn't have done it without you!!

Poppy also taught Lillian how to say such amusing things as "Yumbo!" while patting her tummy after an especially delicious mouthful of food. She also learned how to cover her ears when Poppy tried to sing along with the Beatles cover band at Fort Greene Park!!!!

It was a great week. There is nothing like spending time with grandkids to help a person remember what is truly important in life. : > )
