Ready for Her Close-up

Here's the baby's sweet little profile as of today. We were due for our anatomical ultrasound, and she was up on the screen for about 45 minutes as they measured everything they could possibly measure. Happily, the baby has two arms, two legs, lots of fingers and toes, two kidneys, a bladder, four chambers of the heart, a good-looking spine, and something called something like "corpus collosum" which connects the right and left sides of the brain. She currently weighs 14 ounces and is almost 9 inches long.

There was a lot of activity going on in those 45 minutes. At one point, the baby was lying on her back with her legs straight out over her head (plow pose, for all you yogis out there). She also had her hands together like she was praying for a little while. And I swear, at one point she gave the thumbs up sign. She's part acrobat, part nun, part Fonzie.

Well, all that may be true. But if she takes after her mother, she'll be just fine!
