11 months!?!? How did that happen?? Our little art project of photographing her every month of her first year is nearly over. Sniff, sniff.
Lil is transforming in to a toddler before our very eyes. She is constantly babbling the best noises you've ever heard. Lots of "hoo" and "oh!" and her favorite at the moment, "bee-yap," which she says over and over and over to the point that it sounds like she's saying "be happy." Here're some highlights of the last month:
- She now claps--on command! (sometimes)--and waves bye bye.
- She said bye-bye twice on her 11-month-birthday, but we haven't heard it since. She said it very non-chalantly when Pansy, our babysitter extraordinaire, was leaving for the day. Other than that, no real words to speak of.
- She has already transitioned in to taking one nap a day, generally for about 2 hours. She goes down like a sack of potatoes too. After what felt like an eternity of struggling to get her to take two naps a day, this is major.
- She sleeps from 6-ish to 6-ish pretty much every night. Which means so long as we get in bed by 10-ish, we are regularly logging 8 hours again.
- She has fallen in love with a toy--a stuffed seahorse that plays lullabies and lights up when you press its belly. Teddy, our Polish kitchen renovation contractor gave it to her when she was born.
- Her favorite foods are hummus, bananas, yogurt, apples, pears, and smashed peas. And if she's in daddy daycare, she often gets them all mixed up in one bowl. Her favorite snack is either a piece of cheese or these crackers that look like tiny pieces of toast. I think people serve them with caviar. I saw them at Trader Joe's and thought they looked like just her size, and much less prone to turning in to a gloopy mess like the teething biscuits she'd smeared all over creation. So she's a hoity-toity snacker.
