Ta-dum...

This is the baby at 17 weeks. Pretty crazy, huh? The white parts are the baby's bones. They can see and measure everything these days. We saw the four chambers of the heart, the bladder, the femur, etc., etc. So far, all necessary parts seem to be where they're supposed to be.

This was taken last week when we had the amnio done. The amnio tests for any chromosomal abnormalities and definitively tells you the sex. We should have the results early next week.

We also met with genetic counselors while we were there, two women who were so smiley and soft-spoken we thought maybe we had stumbled into some church lady convention. They mapped our family tree (Scott's looks like a forest, Kate's is more of a grass patch) and rooted out any genetically-related diseases. Based on Kate's age, our odds of having a chromosomally-healthy baby are 99.25%. Everyone, please think "46". That's how many chromosomes we're hoping for.
